What is most stupendous to me about this version is the save file upload you can do from the original game. The upgrade can be noticed on a regular HD TV, but it can truly be appreciated in 4K on a PS4 Pro, as most upgraded games nowadays. Dragon’s Crown Pro 4K Makeover Is StunningĪll of what we said in the original review remains the same, though the port looks gorgeous in 4K, and really accentuates the painstaking detail in the hand-drawn art-style that is instantly recognizable in Vanillaware’s games.Īnimation is as glorious and stunning as ever, highlighting the (sometimes ridiculously proportioned but) lovable heroes and dropping them in fantastical and vibrant environments. Dragon's Crown is a masterpiece of a co-op brawler, and one of my favourite games of all time.Dragon’s Crown Pro Review: Worthy of a re-visit. The levels do get repeated, but to mitigate that, each level has two branching paths that have enemies that evolve in difficulty as you progress through the story. The game can also be played single player, and you'll be shocked to see how fun it is then, as you'll find yourself with a good amount more control on the battlefield allowing for more strategic gameplay on your part. Gameplay is excellent, with each class being fun to play and customize in its own way, offering you and your friends a myriad of ways to play the game. Each map is filled with insane amounts of detail and the cooking minigame in particular deserves special praise for having such scrumptiously rendered food. The artwork is immeasurably beautiful, and a timeless masterpiece. I played it with friends back when it released for the Playstation 3 and I played it with new friends on the Playstation 4, and it has always been extremely fun each time.
